There seems to be a focus on Rare Earth Minerals these days and our 2nd featured company of 2010 has just announced that they have doubled the size of their RARE EARTH minerals property in Newfoundland. The property consists of 100% ownership of 54 claims which covers an area of approx. 1,600 acres north of Fortune Bay in southern Newfoundland.

The company is exploring the property which has historic mineralized samples containing significantly enriched in Zr (Zirconium), Y (Yttrium), Nb (Niobium), Th (Thorium), Ce (Cerium), and other Rare Earth Elements.

Planned 2010 operations include prospecting, mapping, sampling and a drilling program.

Historic assays have returned values up to 20,000 g/t Zr (Zirconium), 2968 g/t Y (Yttrium), 2334 g/t Nb (Niobium), 1550 g/t Ce (Cerium), 725 g/t Th (Thorium) and 240 g/t Sn (Stannum).

Rare Earth Elements are used in a variety of applications including in the production of engines/batteries in hybrid cars, and consumable electronics, (Blackberries, iPods, flat screen televisions), and in various green energy technologies and military applications.

OIL AND GAS:

The company also has several Oil and Gas properties in Alberta and BC.

They have a 35.7% working interest in 7 oil and gas properties in the prolific Pembina Cardium field located about 50 miles southwest of Edmonton, slated for initial development of 2 horizontal wells this year.

The company also has a 50% working interest in 4 other Pembina oil and gas properties with a number of low risk horizontal drilling locations.

They also have varying smaller interest in a number of oil and gas properties in BC and Alberta, including many operating wells.

GOLD:

The company also has a gold property in the Eskay Creek/Stewart Region and another in the Yukon.

The Eskay Creek/Stewart Region is 160 km by 50 km (99 miles by 31 miles) and to date has produced 15 million ounces of gold, 270 million ounces of silver, 4 billion pounds of copper and 782 million pounds of Molybdenum.

Over 35 holes have been drilled near their property. Recent nearby drilling highlights include: 12.8m of 44.75g/ton GOLD and 4.87m of 76.80g/ton GOLD.

Their Yukon properties border Underworld Resource's results which returned grades of 3.94 g/t Au over 59.9 metres and 3.59 g/t Au over 98.3 metres.
